Since about Oct/Nov I've been seriously considering what the point is of my photography "business". Is there a real purpose to it?
One main thing I've been trying to figure out is why I just can't get more people in my "door". I would love to shoot pictures for anyone, but that doesn't seem to matter. I thought, "maybe I charge too much compared to studios??" but after a discussion about it with another photographer friend who has a booming business I realize that for what I offer I am very reasonably priced - but do the "customers" see and understand that? Or do they see the "cheap" price and think "cheap" quality?
I am so frustrated with this whole thing. I feel like there really is no point. I should just take pictures of things I like and keep it at that. But I can't even sell those prints! *shrug* it's extremely frustrating, but I guess that's what it's like when you first start out on a business venture like this. I just don't know if it's worth keeping it up.
